Beta

The purpose of a beta is to build a fully working version of your digital project, and then test that version with users. Once you have addressed any issues raised in user testing, you can prepare to move your project live.

Prior to starting beta, you should have done discovery work to generate user stories and then validated that those user stories are viable during alpha.

You might choose to do a private beta, in which your project is released only to a controlled audience, or you might choose to do a public beta in which your project is released to everyone for feedback. Either way, the major success criteria for beta is that you have tested your project with real users and addressed any issues that they raise.
